Bishop Michael Burbidge has asked Catholics within the Diocese of Arlington to join Archbishop Jose Gomez, president of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, and Archbishop William Lori, chairman of the USCCB’s Committee on Pro-Life Activities, in a day of prayer and fasting on Friday, May 13, the Memorial of Our Lady of Fatima.
In midst of the tensions over the leaked Supreme Court opinion, they have specifically asked that the rosary be prayed for our nation, for the integrity of our judicial system, and that all branches of government be dedicated to seeking the common good and protecting the dignity and rights of the human person, from conception to natural death.
The rosary will be prayed publicly before the 9:00 am Mass on Friday, May 13 for these intentions. Mass will be followed by Adoration. Please consider attending these events at the church. If you cannot attend, consider praying the rosary privately and offering up a day of fasting for these intentions.
